Just about every computer related problem is "weird" or "strange", which means most problems are unique to specific software/hardware configurations. This makes it difficult to estimate the time and cost of repairs.

We can generally assess and diagnose a system within our minimum service fee of $35 (half an hour).

After the assessment is done, we can more accurately estimate the time and cost involved in repairing the problem.

Virus's and Spyware

After a computer has been infected by a virus or malicious spyware, even after removal the damage can already be done. Virus's and spyware can delete, corrupt and attach themselves to system files rendering the operating system inoperable.  They can write registry lines that rewrite themselves under different names every time the computer is restarted. They can be very nasty.Sometimes the only guaranteed way to be sure that all virus's and spyware have been removed is to format the hard drive. This means all the data on the drive will be erased. In this situation all important data needs to be backed up (all important data should be backed up regularly anyway). The hard drive is "erased" and the operating system and all the drivers for the various components are re-installed. All software must be reinstalled from the original source. Software cannot be backed up, only the data can. Its good practice to keep hard copies of all the software on the system nearby so that in the event of a format it will be easier to get back up and running again.

Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will help you get back up and running again Whether you are trying to finish off last years taxes, rendering out a family movie or trying to slay a dragon to complete a quest, we will do our best to get your system back to you as quickly and affordably as possible.

WORDS OF ADVICE

If you need to give out an email address in order to subscribe to a web site, don't use your personal address. Use a free email account from hotmail or yahoo to avoid having your personal address added to mass mailing lists and attacked by spam.

Unfortunately, no matter how much protection you have "stuff" can be inadvertently installed or get past your security software. Be aware of where you're surfing and never click "yes", "no", cancel, or close, without reading all the information in the message. If something seems fishy research the message on Yahoo or Google to find out whether or not you're dealing with tricky advertising.
